home sweet home

We wanted to send this to our friends & family that have prayed us through selling our house in Birmingham. We made the move to Southaven August (2007) in faith that the Lord had called us to Trinity Baptist. We rented an apt there, and our church family was awesome about keeping us encouraged & helping us whenever they could! We made the move to live with my parents Labor Day (Sept 2008) in hopes of saving money (minus apt rent) and hold out until the B'ham house sold. We finally were able to release ourselves from the house this March (2009). We lost alot on closing, but since this was our first (& only) offer since we had put the house on the market, we knew we had to work with what we were offered! We had been house hunting in Fayette & Desoto County since our move to Southaven! (This actually became a favorite "hobby" for us as we waited.) We had a few really good ideas of where we wanted to buy, and now (praise the Lord!) the time has come for us to have our own home again!!

We decided to buy in Saint Ives in Hernando, MS. God has really provided a family & community for us at Trinity, and we feel as though our ministry would be best nurtured with a home in Desoto County. I will be making the drive to Fayette Academy through this school year. I don't feel like it's time to make a change there yet. We are more than excited about having the opportunity to do "normal" things at our house...ie: hosting BUNKO! :), having families over for dinner, hosting bible studies/book club, etc!! 

I am writing this specifically to give you an update, but also to testify just how much the Lord has done for us through this! Despite this awful economic crisis, we were able to make every payment for every bill on time, sell our house in a horrible housing market, live with my parents (who have been so laid back through it all), still have community in Southaven (thanks to those of you who have invited us into your homes on Sunday afternoons, waiting for a softball game, let us come take a nap, spend the night, etc!!). :) We also now have an opportunity to buy a home in an awesome neighborhood that we can grow into & have room for our family to stay when they come to visit. We probably wouldn't have been able to afford this house in a normal housing market, so the Lord's timing has just been impeccable! We are reminded that all things work in His time... Even though we thought our house would sell quickly, it didn't...BUT we had the opportunity to live with my parents (who are sometimes more busy than we are!), :) and I will always cherish the "extra" time with them. We are humbled & grateful at the Lord's provision & protection over us. This is just another testimony to that in our lives!!

You can check again in just a couple of days... I will be posting a picture of our future home! We are confirming our contract today, and if all goes well, we will close mid-July!

So thank you for praying with us! The Lord has heard your prayers and blessed us beyond what we could have asked for!
